Schaumburg Library to feature local candidates in forum

Voters are welcome to meet candidates running for several local elections during online forums this month.

These nonpartisan forums take place Saturday through Monday, March 13-15. Information is available at SchaumburgLibrary.org, with links available for registration.

Hoffman Estates village president candidates will be featured from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 13. Candidates include incumbent William D. McLeod, Mark Mueller and Nicholas F. Waryas. This forum is co-hosted by the library and League of Women Voters of the Palatine Area. The moderator will be Katherine Sawyer, chief advancement officer at Oakton Community College. Meet candidates for the Schaumburg Township District Library board of trustees from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 13. This forum will include incumbents Erin Flannigan-Davies, Anita Forte-Scott and David Jonen; and Emily Gilbert, Amy Mueller, William Olson and Carol Pye.

Candidates for Hoffman Estates village trustees will take the stage from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, March 13. Meet incumbents Karen Arnet, Michael Gaeta and Karen V. Mills, along with James Murre, Gaurav Patel and Renee Robinson.

Township High School District 211 board of trustees candidates will share their positions on topics from 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 14. Meet Curtis Bradley, Robi Vollkommer, Denise K. Wilson, Kristen M. Steel, Jessica J. Hinkle, Roxanne Wittkamp, Amy K. Nelson, Anna Klimkowicz and Timothy McGowan.

The final forum will be for the Schaumburg Township board of trustees from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, March 15. Candidates for this race are Demetrius J. Gibson (D), Matthew J. Steward (D), Lauren Saternus (D), Robert N. Fiorio (D), and incumbents Diane Dunham (R), Charlotte Kegarise (R), Jeffery S. Mytych (R) and Nimish Jani (R).
