Discover Oakton's Skokie campus at virtual open house March 24

Explore college and career options without leaving home! Learn how Oakton Community College can help you achieve your dreams by attending the Discover Oakton Virtual Open House, 4:45-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 24.

At the interactive event, join the Oakton Admission team and representatives from our Skokie campus Career and Technical Education programs, as well as Financial Assistance, Career and Transfer Center and Student Life. All sessions will take place via Zoom.

Participants will join breakout sessions to learn more about programs currently offered at the Skokie campus, including Basic Nursing Assistant Training, Fire Science, Electronics/Computer Technologies, Computer Networking and Systems, Engineering, CAD and Manufacturing. As a bonus, attendees can learn about the new Forensics and Audio/Video Digital Content Creation programs available this fall.

Representatives from various departments will illustrate how Oakton programs have real-world applications, lead to a profession and allow students to transfer to a four-year college to complete a bachelor's degree.

"With increased technology, modern manufacturing companies more than ever need talented and highly skilled people to fulfill specialized and challenging roles in computer integrated manufacturing,"says Boguslaw Zapal, faculty coordinator of Manufacturing, Mechanical Design/CAD. "Local businesses are seeking talented employees with advanced technical skills. If you're ready to take the next step, Oakton will give you the skills and knowledge needed to start or advance your career."

Attendees also will be able to explore student services and apply for admission. Application fees will be waived for students who apply for admission during the event or within seven days of attending the event.
