A Few Tips for a Healthy Lifestyle!

A Few Tips for a Healthy Lifestyle

1. Always read the ingredients of the foods you buy. The only way to know what you are putting in your body and what you are eating is by reading the INGREDIENTS.

You need to read more than the nutritional label. The nutritional label only tells you numbers (and do you really know what the numbers mean?) and you want to know exactly what you are eating.

2. Make sure to learn how to stretch your hamstrings. When your hamstring are tight, it will negatively affect your knees and your back.

Do not wait until it is too late and you have injured your knees and/or your back. Stretch your hamstrings everyday. It is okay to do gentle stretches even if you have not been exercising. Always hold the stretch for 30-60 seconds and breathe into the muscle.

3. Make sure that you are eating, exercising and stretching correctly. There is a right and wrong way to exercise and if you have not been taught by a professional, you could be causing injuries to your body and/or not using your time in the gym or at home to your advantage. I am not just saying this because I am a Personal Trainer and Nutrition Counselor trying to get your business!!! I am saying this because the number of members I see at the gym (and now at home) who are exercising incorrectly is about 80%. And the number of potential clients I meet with, who think they are eating healthy but are eating incorrectly for their health and fitness goals, is , in my opinion, about 90%.

Do not assume you are eating and exercising correctly. Having a trained professional look at your exercise program and eating plan to assess and advise you according to your goals is the best investment you can make in your health. Again, I only say this based on what I see in the many gyms and homes I have trained and workout at and based on the clients who come to see me about their eating plans.

Right now more than ever, it is important to exercise and eat correctly to keep your immune system strong and use preventative measures for the future. This is my passion and I am here to help!
