'Wine and Design' event Oct. 15 to benefit the H Foundation

On Thursday, Oct. 15, join County Line Home Design Center and co-op members for a fundraiser in support of basic science cancer research. The "Wine and Design" event will be 3 to 7 p.m. at the Design Center, 110 S. Washington St. in Hinsdale.

For a $25 donation to the H Foundation supporting cancer research, you can enjoy a progressive wine tasting and meet Design Center partners. You also will get a commemorative wineglass, a co-op member vendor discount booklet, light appetizers, and a tour of the remodeled showroom and courtyard.

"So many of us want to get out and be part of the community again," said Rebecca Austin, Design Center director. "Wine and Design provides an opportunity to network with area businesses and reconnect with neighbors and friends while supporting The H Foundation."

"All proceeds benefit basic science cancer research at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Center of Northwestern University through The H Foundation," according to Cortney Frahm, executive director of the H Foundation.

The H Foundation began 20 years ago with a few friends who decided they could make a difference in the fight against cancer. Every summer since then, The H Foundation has hosted the Goombay Bash, a casual Caribbean Festival fundraising event that has grown into the Navy Pier venue. Comedy for Cancer and the Celebrity Golf Classic are other popular H Foundation fundraisers.

The County Line Home Design Center is a collection of accomplished artisans appealing to homeowners who seek distinct design and unique finishes. The Design Center is an expansion of the County Line Properties boutique brand as your local resource for all design needs.

The event chairs emphasize that social distancing will be practiced at the event, masks are required and food and drinks will be served in a safe manner. While tickets will be available at the door, it is best to secure your tickets in advance online at www.hfoundation.org/county-line.
