Learn how to run for office at League of Women Voters webinar Sept. 1

The League of Women Voters Roselle/Bloomingdale and the Roselle Public Library District will present a webinar titled, "Don't Just Run ... WIN" from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1.

The webinar is specifically geared for people who are considering running for office and those who want to learn more about what is involved in running a campaign.

Explore the basics of becoming a candidate and learn some of the requirements of filing petitions, campaign finance reporting, and more.

The event will begin with a basic presentation on candidacy by the League's Diana Hoke, followed by a deeper dive on some of the legal ramifications of running presented by Maryam Judar of Citizens Advocacy Center. Former elected Roselle Village Board trustees Diana Eckert and Barbara Hochstadt will share their insights on running for local office and their reasons for doing so. Finally, they will be fielding questions from the audience via Chat.
