The Lake Cook Business Builders Networking Group and WynBurg Cafe want to treat your family to breakfast. Members of the professional networking group are joining with WynBurg Cafe to provide free pancake kits on May 23. The DIY kits will be assembled by WynBurg Cafe employees for curbside pick-up while supplies last during the morning event, which will run from 8 to 10:30 a.m.

"Our members wanted to do something special for the community," said John Paunan, one of the leaders of the group. "It has been a difficult year for businesses, students and families so this is our opportunity to brighten spirits a bit."

The networking group meets weekly at WynBurg Cafe in Arlington Heights where co-owner Steve Hamburg and his staff have been doing brisk business with carry-out orders. Several weeks ago, the restaurant offered the pancake kit to a resounding reception.

"The kit was a great hit with our customers," Hamburg said. He noted that the kit comes with enough buttermilk batter to make 15, 4 ½ inch pancakes and small containers of chocolate chips, rainbow sprinkles, white chocolate chips, powdered sugar and chocolate sauce.

"We may be biased in saying the pancakes are delicious but there is no debate about how much fun a family can have making them together in the comfort and safety of their own home."

Approximately 160 kits will be given away to the community.

"This is going to be very well-received, so it is important for those interested to place orders now," said Paunan. "Members of our group will be on hand to help deliver the kits to cars when they arrive for pick up. It will be a great way to start the day."

For those who want more than one kit or who do not place an order before supplies run out, additional kits can be purchased for $11.95.

"We are really looking forward to providing a little fun for everyone and it gives our members a chance to meet some of our neighbors," said Business Builder member Laura Lian Williams.
