Local Author Honors Single Mothers on International Women's Day

To celebrate International Women's Day, local author Vanessa Lin raised a toast to single mothers as she launched her new book "Falling Together: A Tale of Believing in Your Own Magic." Held at The Hampton Social in Skokie, the event was sold out with over 75 in attendance.

Her book details the inspirational story of how she navigated her way through single motherhood while pregnant with her first child. Using her intuition and trust in a higher power, she propelled herself into a place of true healing and magic, tapping into universal truths that we can all learn from.

Vanessa asked the audience "What happens when life squeezes you? What comes out? Is it fear, resentment and anger? Or, is it love, compassion and gratitude?" noting how lucky we are to have a choice as to what is inside. "You have to be grateful for your darkness, for without it behind you, you will never know how bright you can shine."

Vanessa's book is one of 20 books to be featured by Rose Gold Publishing, a local small book publisher that specializes in empowering stories that let the author's voices be heard.

Vanessa will be a guest speaker at the 24/7 Power show on Wednesday, April 8. She will also be a featured speaker at the Rose Gold Publishing Gala. The Author's Gala 2020 is an exclusive event featuring 20 local authors that is planned for July 31, 2020 at 6:30 p.m., at Lorena's Banquets at 565 W Lake Street in Addison, Illinois.
