Theater troupes partner to stage 'Doctor Dolittle'

ArtReach Educational Theatre, in partnership with Spotlite Theatrix Production Company, is staging "Doctor Dolittle," based on the story by High Lofting.

Shows will be performed 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, and Saturday, Feb. 8, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3201 Meadow Lane, in Rolling Meadows. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. For ticket information, call (630) 808-5852 or visit www.artreachspotlite.com.

Dr. John Dolittle lives in a small English village where he specializes in caring for and verbally communicating with animals. His care and concern for the animals leads Dr. Dolittle and his animal "family" on a series of adventures.

The show is directed by Dan Walsh of Des Plaines.

The cast includes: Kevin Foss of Palatine as Dr. Dolittle; Thomas Tompkins of Arlington Heights as Matthew Mugg; Taylor Smith of Schaumburg as Sarah/Lioness; Josh Gilderson of Mount Prospect as Beppo/Lion/and Blossom; Gianna Berryhill of Poplar Grove as Mrs. Mumford Pushmi-Pullyu; Michael Dudek of Schaumburg as Dab-Dab; Jackson Berry of Glenview as Gub-Gub; Sophia Berryhill of Poplar Grove as Brown/Butterfly; Jameson Berry of Glenview as Too-Too; Adam Dudek of Schaumburg as Jip; Sophia Boblick of Palatine as Polynesia; and Chloe Williams of Roselle as Chee-Chee.

The mission of ArtReach Educational Theatre is to expose children to all aspects of theater, music and dance. ArtReach Education Theatre accepts any child age 5 through high school, from beginner to advanced performing levels.

Private voice lessons, dance and acting classes, advanced musical theater workshops and Summer Arts Camp programs are offered in Palatine.
