Search for gold at Shamrock Swim

Dive into the water and search for treasure at Schaumburg Park District's Shamrock Swim.

This kid-friendly event is set for 6-7:30 p.m., Feb. 29 at The Water Works, 505 N. Springinsguth Road.

The indoor pool will be filled with plastic gold coins for children to collect and redeem for prizes. Participants will be separated by age group to collect coins.

In addition to collecting coins, children can swim in the other pools not designated for the hunt.

"This new event is a fun twist on a traditional gold coin hunt-instead of being on land, this one is in the water," said Kathleen Benson, Bock Neighborhood Center manager. "Children will get to splash around and celebrate the luck of the Irish with fun prizes and snacks!"

Cost is $12 per child for residents and $15 per child for non-residents. Registration is recommended by Feb. 28.
