Prince of Peace Catholic School Invites Community to Celebrate Catholic Schools Week
Lake Villa, IL - January 2020 - Prince of Peace Catholic School, a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon school, announces that Catholic Schools Week will take place from January 26-February 1, and invites the community to help celebrate.
National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, until February 1. The theme for the National Catholic Schools Week 2020 is "Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed." Prince of Peace observes the annual celebration week with masses, open houses and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members. Through these events, Prince of Peace, as well as other Catholic schools across the United States, focus on the value that Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities and our nation. National Catholic Schools Week is celebrating its 46th year in 2020.
Prince of Peace invites the community to get to know us better during this fun-filled week. Community members are invited to join us on Sunday, January 26 at an Open House from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. There will be tours of our school and state-of-the-art Parish Life Center. Additionally, attendees can view our innovative 7th and 8th grade STEM projects, take a step back in time with the 5th grade as they re-enact the Colonial Days and learn fun facts about famous people from the past from our 3rd grade students.
"We value our student body as well as our faculty, staff and parents at Prince of Peace. Catholic Schools Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate them as well as the importance of Catholic education," said Dr. Stephanie Stoneberg, Principal of Prince of Peace. "We also value our parishioners and local community, and appreciate all that ours do for us, so we are pleased to open several of our events to local families and friends. We hope to see you and to welcome you to our school."
Other events we invite the community to attend include an all-school mass on Monday, January 27 at 8 a.m. and the much-anticipated 8th grade vs. faculty volleyball game on Wednesday, January 29 at 1 p.m. Please check in at the school office before the volleyball game.
