Students, businesses work together on storefront windows for West Chicago's Frosty Fest

Members of the West Chicago Community High School National Honor Society worked with seven downtown businesses or organizations to add holiday cheer to storefront windows in time for Frosty Fest, which is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. in downtown West Chicago.

Among the participating businesses/organizations are Rite Way Auto, 101 E. Washington St.; Republic Bank, 101 Main St.; Primerica, 102 Main St.; Iris Salon, 117 Main St.; Healthy West Chicago, 129 Main St.; the City Museum, 132 Main St.; and Ferny's Salon, 136 Main St.

The idea for the activity came from volunteers of the Frosty Fest Committee as a way to build community connections and add the new element of decorated storefront windows for Frosty Fest-goers who will be strolling Main Street to attend the many activities taking place at various locations.

Decorations were supplied by each business/organization and students worked as teams to come up with a plan and execute a design.

Committee members are delighted to add another new element to Frosty Fest, especially one that engages students and downtown business owners.

A complete schedule of Frosty Fest activities is now available at www.westchicago.org under Special Events/Frosty Fest.
