Glenbard East named school of distinction for exchange program

Glenbard East High School in Lombard has been honored with the School of Distinction award for promoting citizen diplomacy and fostering international understanding through the GAPP (German American Partnership Program) Exchange.

Congratulations to Molly Gstalter and Jackson Howenstine for all of their hard work in organizing and leading the German cultural exchange programs over the years.

Glenbard East's exchange is very popular and there have been five home-stay exchanges with East's sister school, Montfort Gymnasium.

German students stay with families and attend classes at Glenbard East.

Then, Glenbard East students travel to Tettnang, Germany to stay with their new German siblings for three weeks and attend their school.

Glenbard East students also have the opportunity to travel to other parts of Germany, as well as Austria and Switzerland.
