New Owners, New Name for Arlington Heights Restaurant

There's something new cooking at an Arlington Heights restaurant-in fact, there's quite a bit that's new. But before you go looking for it, the new owners want you to know the location is easy to find even if there aren't signs to help you out just yet.

"We've been moving at a rapid pace since taking over," said WynBurg Café co-owner Steve Hamburg. "We've put all of our energy and attention into the customer-facing issues thus far. Our re-branding efforts are focused on reflecting our vision for the restaurant."

Local residents are familiar with the location of the new venue, which serves breakfast and lunch seven days a week. Long-time residents will remember Max & Irma's and more recently, Gail's Carriage Place. But for Hamburg and co-owner Patty Wynne, all efforts are focused on the future of the new WynBurg Café.

"While the new name reflects our mission of working together, it also reflects the joining of our respective business and restaurant industry backgrounds," said Wynne. "We hope guests will stop and meet us when they come in so they can learn what we are all about."

Wynne said the spacious restaurant has been busy on weekends right from the start and weekdays have seen a steady stream of customers, including businesspeople and groups taking advantage of the location at Rand and Arlington Heights Road to hold meetings over breakfast and lunch.

"Patty and I are very excited about the opportunity to be a part of the Arlington Heights and Buffalo Grove communities," Hamburg said. "We've had great feedback already from our patrons and we look forward to welcoming more guests as word gets out."

Creative changes in the works for the new menu include banana churro French toast, chicken chilaquiles, and birthday cake pancakes, just to name a few. There are plenty of traditional breakfast and lunch options available as well.

And about those signs? "We're looking forward to having our new name and logo displayed prominently in the next week or two," said Wynne. "But don't wait for those to stop by. The food and staff are ready now."

WynBurg Café is located at 306 East Rand Road. For more details, call (847) 398-8900.
