Put your favorite dish to the test at 'Tastings of Bloomingdale' Nov. 2

The Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce is calling all chefs, amateur and professional, to put their favorite dish to the test.

"Tastings of Bloomingdale" (formerly "50 Men Who Cook, Divas Who Dish, A Taste of Bloomingdale") is now recruiting chefs to participate in their annual community culinary event which is also a fundraiser for local schools.

Going on to its 11th year this event continues to grow in popularity.

Professional chefs and amateurs showcase their finest dishes to an audience of 200-plus on Saturday, Nov. 2, at Stratford Square Mall, southwest entrance.

Judging is based on these two chef divisions and in multiple categories.

The general public will be the judges as they visit each station. Each chef is asked to bring 300 items with each item being taste size (about two bites or tablespoons.)

Winners will receive, recognition and bragging rights. There is nothing like being able to boast you were voted the "Best."

Why participate? To showcase your specialty, be recognized as the best, market to a new audience, and support your community and schools.

In addition to food and entertainment, this event also includes an outstanding raffle with amazing prizes.

This is a family-friendly event with kid activities, pricing and judging - Kid's Choice Award.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit programs in local schools.

New this year is an added category for drinks including wine, beer and other drink samplings. You will leave full and your appetite satisfied.

Food will be served from 6 to 8 p.m., with raffle and awards starting at 8 p.m.
