Families find 'A Minion Ways to Have Fun' at St. Scholastica School's game night

More than 60 children attended St. Scholastica School's inaugural Family Game Night on Wednesday, March 20.

Family Game Night is a free event for families. The event gives families the opportunity to step away from the busyness of life and have fun together.

This year's theme was "A Minion Ways to Have Fun."

The school's newly renovated and expanded gym provided plenty of space for parents and students to challenge one another to 11 themed games. Families challenged one another to games including:

• Feed the Minion - students worked on the perfect banana toss to reach the character's mouth.

• Bapple Tag - one player has a felt apple and the other a felt banana. Who can tag the other the most in one minute?

• Pin the Eye - the whole family takes turns trying to get the eye in just the right spot!

• Family Fitness Game - the whole family tries to get to the finish line first by completing calisthenics challenges along the way.

• Cup Race - parent versus child, who can move the stack of six cups, one at a time, to the nearby table and recreate the stack the fastest!

The evening was fun for families of all sizes and ages.

Parent Sarah Stankus said, " Family Game Night was so much fun for our whole family! There were so many games at different levels that there was always something for each of our four children to do, from the middle schooler to the preschooler! We are looking forward to the next community family event!"

Family Game Night was supported by the school's art teacher. She shared, "Family Game Night is a great opportunity for our school families to create memories that will be cherished for a lifetime."

The evening's events were also supported by teachers and students who volunteered to be part of the fun.

School principal Liz Driscoll said, "Family Game Night provides our community members the opportunity to come out and play with their children in a fun, festive atmosphere."

Family Game Night is the second of three family nights that Saint Scholastica School is hosting this year. In the fall, families enjoyed attending Family Reading Night. Later in the spring, the school will host Family STEM Night as well.
