Aurora University Online launches Master of Science in Exercise Science program

Aurora University Online (AU Online) is pleased to announce its newest program, the Master of Science in Exercise Science degree, which is designed to prepare students for careers in a variety of fitness, sports and clinical settings. The program is expected to launch in fall 2019.

"The Master of Science in Exercise Science program provides students with a sound theoretical and practical educational experience with the convenience of an online format," said Chris Pitsikoulis, EdD, MBA, RCEP, CSCS, chair and assistant professor of exercise science. "The program allows students to choose between two areas of specialization, sports performance and clinical exercise physiology. In addition, the required internship and capstone course incorporate what students have learned into a culminating real-world experience that helps them develop into competent and sought-after professionals."

Students will gain knowledge in key content areas such as exercise physiology, sport nutrition, sports psychology and program design. The degree prepares graduates for industry-standard certifications such as the American College of Sports Medicine's Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist exam and the National Strength and Conditioning Association's Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist exam.

Because it is offered in an online format, students complete eight-week courses with the flexibility to meet work and family commitments.

As with all AU Online programs, the MS in Exercise Science features expert faculty that are responsive to student needs.
