Candidate Forums offer on 2 days

The first forum will feature candidates for the 58th District State Representative, 29th District State Senate, and 10th Congressional District races on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Deerfield High School, 1959 N. Waukegan Road, Deerfield.

The October 7 forum schedule begins at 2:00 P.M. with candidates for the 58th State Representative (Rick Lessor [R] and Bob Morgan [D]) and the 29th State Senate District (Barrett Davie [R] and Julie Morrison [D]). The 10th Congressional debate will begin at 3:40 P.M. with candidates Doug Bennett (R) and Brad Schneider (D). Questions regarding this forum on October 7 can be referred to 224-676-0208.

The second candidate forum will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018, featuring candidates for the 9th Congressional, the 13th and 14th Cook County Commissioner, and the 17th and 18th State Representative Districts. The forums will take place at the Wilmette Village Hall, 1220 Wilmette Avenue in Wilmette.

The October 20 forums will begin at 9:00 A.M. with candidates Jan Schakowsky (D) and John D. Elleson (R) for the 9th Congressional District. At 10:00 A.M. 13th District Cook County Commissioner candidates (Larry Suffredin [D] and Chris Hanusiak [R]) and 14th District Cook County Commissioner candidates (Scott Britton [D] and Gregg Goslin [R]) will respond to questions. Candidates for the 17th State Representative District (Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz [D] and Peter Lee [R]) and candidates for the 18th State Representative District (Robyn Gabel [D] and Julie Cho [R]), will follow in a forum at 11:10 am. The public will be able to submit written questions for the candidates at both forums.

The forums are co-sponsored by the Leagues of Women Voters of Glenview/Glencoe, Evanston, Wilmette, Winnetka-Northfield-Kenilworth, the Deerfield Area, Highland Park/Highwood, Lake Forest Area and the Union League Club of Chicago.
