Streamwood Woman's Club Flower Show Success

On April 9, 2018, the Streamwood Woman's Club held their 12th annual Floral Design Showcase at the Streamwood High School.

Three florists were the stars of the show, Kathi Rose from Kaleidoscope of Floral Design, Christine Plier from Town and Country Gardens and Cathy Mokrzycki from Deptula Florist & Gifts. The florists present various arrangements that are raffled off to attendees of the event. They each also design an arrangement in front of the audience. The grand finale included a quiz where each arrangement represented a famous song.

This year proved to be one of the most successful years. The Streamwood Woman's Club raised over $5000 from ticket sales, ad book sales, 50/50 raffle, Maid for a Day raffle, second chance raffle for entries to win one of the beautiful arrangements, and sales of baked goods donated from Franco's Bakery, CICI's restaurant and chocolate covered pretzels made by the members of the Woman's club. Other contributors towards raffle prizes include Anyway's Restaurant, St. Andrew's Golf and Country Club, Ion Nutrition, Chic Concepts, Culvers, Never Ending Cycles, Chili's, Keith's Komix, Fiesta Market and Napa Auto Parts.

Proceeds from this event and many other events held throughout the year get donated back to the community. Some of the donations get distributed to the DARE program from the Streamwood Police, Hanover Township Food Pantry and Open Gym, Streamwood High School Theater Arts programs, scholarships and more.
