Advocate Sherman West Court receives a 5 Star rating by Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services

Advocate Sherman West Court in Elgin has again received the highest possible overall rating of five stars from the The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. CMS annually updates their official government website Nursing Home Compare Five-Star Quality Rankings.

They rate nursing homes primarily by three categories - health inspections, staffing, and quality measures to develop an overall star rating. This rating system continues to include new quality measures covering successful discharges, emergency visits and re-hospitalizations.

"The Advocate Sherman West Court team holds this recognition in high regard," said Angela Lackowski, Assistant Administrator at Sherman West Court. "The five-star rating recognition is significant evidence that Sherman is a great place to work, practice, and receive care." She said. "Our associates work hard to maintain high marks in the areas of patient satisfaction, safety and quality."

Sherman West Court established in 1991, is a 112-bed rehabilitation and skilled nursing care facility. It now offers 78 rehabilitation and 34 skilled nursing beds, with private room options. Services include rehabilitation, long-term care, respite and hospice services, as well as short-term post-acute care. The facility sees approximately 900 admissions and discharges per year, and there a number associates have worked there for more than 25 years.

Advocate Sherman West Court provides a unique post-acute care program in which patients benefit from weekly physician and advanced practice nurse visits, as well as a thorough and educational discharge coordination.
