Project Two Music to perform at Sun City Huntley

Broadway star Judith Franklin will join a local music ensemble for a performance at Sun City Huntley.

Franklin, recently seen in Broadway's "Motown the Musical" as Martha Reeves, will join local group Project Two Music in concert at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, at Drendel Hall, 12880 Del Webb Blvd., Huntley.

The concert will feature 1960s hits from bands such as The Temptations, The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, The Jackson Five, and the music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.

Tickets are $10 for Del Webb residents and $15 for the public. Prices go up by $5 on the date of the performance. For tickets and information, call (847) 515-7650.

Project Two Music was formed by Huntley High School graduates in 2007. The group began as middle school students that were inspired by the hit musical "Jersey Boys." Dylan Ladd, director of Project Two Music, shared the music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons with his classmates.

Together, they began performing at local talent shows. Their first professional performance occurred at Sun City Huntley under the name "The Jersey Kids."

Since that performance, the group has expanded its selections and introduced a live band, developing into Project Two Music.

The band comprises 12 musicians and has performed at a variety of venues, including the Arcada Theater in St. Charles, the McHenry County Fair, and on the main stage at the Huntley Fall Fest. They have also performed live on STAR 105.5 and at corporate events, including Motorola Solutions.

This performance should prove to be special as it is a return to Sun City, the very first venue where the group appeared, and includes guest star Franklin, who has been seen in productions of "Dreamgirls," "Memphis," and "Little Shop of Horrors."

Most recently, Franklin has completed her run in the national tour of "Motown the Musical" as Martha Reeves.

Franklin has also worked with big names such as Todrick Hall in "Straight Outta Oz" and Tyler Perry in "Madea on the Run."
