Girls volleyball: Fremd finishes perfect in MSL West

Fremd put the final touches on an undefeated Mid-Suburban West girls volleyball season Thursday with a 25-12, 25-20 triumph over Barrington.

Sophomore Rylen Reid and senior Breslen Reid each put down 10 kills to lead the visiting Vikings (22-2, 10-0) to their 22nd straight win.

Rian Baker handed out 25 assists and Izzy Segoviano collected 13 digs for Fremd, which will host East champ Hersey next Wednesday for the MSL title.

Barrington (15-14, 5-5) was led on attack by Jessica Horwath (5 kills), Noelle Daehler (3 kills, 2 blocks), Campbell Paris (2 kills, 2 digs) and Felicia Guagliardo (2 kills, 9 assists, 5 digs).

Conant D. Palatine: Visiting Conant finished 6-4 in the MSL West with a 25-16 25-22 win as Danielle Smith, Jessica Sharp and Yuri Hara (1 ace) each put down 4 kills. Payton Litney handed out 25 assists.

Palatine (15-8, 7-3) was led on attack by Emily Campe (6 kills), Sydney Weibe (5) and Sarah Elischer (4). Allison Drake had 16 assists.

Prospect D. Wheeling: Grace Cacini and Jenna Acosta each put down 12 kills to lead visiting Prospect (17-7, 8-2) in a 25-17, 16-25, 25-17 MSL East win.

Ellen Sherwood added 4 blocks with 5 kills while Sarah Skaggs handed out 25 assists and Mia Farraday had 17 digs.

Elk Grove D. Rolling Meadows: Megan Murray (18 digs), Kaitlin Ingebrigtsen (10 kills, 6 blocks), Autumn Gouge (4 blocks), Alissa Kurczack (4 kills) and Lili Duckmann (16 digs, 12 assists) were the leaders as visiting EG (1-9), 4-27) notched its first win in the MSL East.

Meadows (9-25, 2-8) was paced on attack by junior Ashlyn Ryan's 20 kills and 5 from Patrycja Winnicki.

College

Harper D. Triton: Harper improved to 10-0 in the N4C to clinch to league crown two matches left.

Rugile Jaciunas, Rachel Kandefer and Natalie Asa each had 6 kills for the Hawks, who were led in the back row by Kayla Agoranos (11 digs) and Jules Carusiello (8).
