Man charged with burglarizing Wheaton library cafe

A West Chicago man has been charged with burglarizing the cafe at the Wheaton Public Library.

Branford D. Yurko, 19, of the 500 block of Highland Avenue, faces felony charges of burglary and theft, according to DuPage County court records.

He is accused of breaking into the library at 10:27 p.m. on June 8 and taking $1,173.45 from the Altiro Wheaton Library Coffee Shop.

Yurko is being held on $15,000 bail in the DuPage County jail. He would need to post $1,500 to be released pretrial.

When Wheaton police reported the burglary, they said it was believed four suspects were involved. They could not be immediately reached for contact Thursday to determine whether any other people have been charged.

At the time of the break-in, Yurko was out on bond for another case. He was charged on April 6 with attempted burglary, possession of burglary tools and criminal damage to property. He is accused of trying to break into the Dr. LungZzz Smoke Shop on 75th Street in Naperville, prying open the door.
