Suburban restaurants supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month with fundraising specials

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and restaurants around the suburbs are offering specialty drinks or menu items to help raise money to fund research, awareness, education and support for cancer patients. Here's a sampling of what we found.

Antico Posto

118 Oakbrook Center, Oak Brook, (630) 586-9200, antico-posto.com/. For every glass of Primitivo Rosato, Masseria Borgo del Trulli, Puglia ($12) ordered during October, Antico Posto will donate $1 to the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation. Reservations requested.

Bagels By The Book

During October, the bagel cafe is offering a "pinktober" pink bagel, available plain for $1.75 or with cream cheese for $2.75, of which 10% will be donated to the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

Beatrix

Beatrix's Pink Lemon Angel Food Cake Muffin ($3.75) is part of The Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation's Chicago's In Good Taste campaign during October, meaning that $1 from each muffin sold will be donated to the organization.

Bottleneck Management, which owns City Works and Old Town Pour House, has joined with Boston Beer Co. in the "Hops for Hope" campaign, meaning that for every Angry Orchard Crisp and Boston Lager drink sold in October, the companies will donate $1 to the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation, which raises money for breast cancer research, education and support for patients.

The Hampton Social

For each limited edition The Fighter cocktail sold in October, The Hampton Social will donate $1 to The American Cancer Society in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The $16 cocktail is a blend of Sneaky Fox Vodka, blackberry pear thyme shrub, lemon and ginger beer. Reservations requested.

Houlihan's

Houlihan's is honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month by donating $1 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation for every Pretty in Pink cocktail sold during October. The pink drink is a blend of Calirosa Blanco Tequila, Disaronno, lemon and strawberry that's finished with prosecco.
