Schaumburg Library offers spook-tacular fun all month

From creepy crafts to spooky stories to monstrous movies, Schaumburg Township District Library is ready to celebrate Halloween throughout October.

<h3 class="briefHead">For adults</h3>

&#x2022; Fright Night III - A Horror Trivia and Storytelling Event: 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Pollyanna Roselare Tap Room, 245 E Main St., in Roselle. Come for a night of horror trivia and spooky stories from professional storyteller Scott Whitehair.

&#x2022; The Evolution of the Modern Zombie: 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at the Central Library. Author Scott Kenemore will walk you through the history of what we call zombies, where the lore came from, and how we use zombies in our culture to address other fears.

&#x2022; Vampires Most Wanted - From Boogeyman to Romantic Heroes: 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the Central Library. Author Laura L. Enright examines the evolution of the vampire in myth, literature and media.

&#x2022; "Nosferatu" Screening with Live Organ Accompaniment: 7-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at the Central Library. Organist Jay Warren will play the original score to the horror movie classic as it plays on screen.

<h3 class="briefHead">For kids</h3>

&#x2022; Movie Screening - "Hocus Pocus": 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, at the Hanover Park Branch. Watch the Halloween favorite with family and friends.

&#x2022; Potions Lab (ages 9-12 years): 4-5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the Central Library. Create all different kinds of spooky potions such as zombie antidote and dragon's blood.

&#x2022; Chat & Craft with Jess (ages 9-12 years): 3:30-4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, online on Zoom. In this Halloween edition of the program, tweens chat with licensed social worker Jess while making a spider craft.

&#x2022; Halloween Hoopla (ages 5 years and younger with a caregiver): 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Oct. 31, at the Central Library. Come in costume for games, crafts, stories, dancing and trick-or-treating through the library.

<h3 class="briefHead">For teens</h3>

&#x2022; Create & Chill with Jess: 4:30-5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, on Zoom. In this Halloween edition of the program, teens chat with licensed social worker Jess while making spiderweb d&#xe9;cor.
