In less than two years showing competitively, Caroline Sather of Park Ridge rode her pony, Moon, at the United States Equestrian Foundation Pony Finals at Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington Aug. 8-14. She's pictured after she won the National Emerson Burr Horsemanship Grant on Aug. 12, her ninth birthday. On Aug. 13, in the event's medal round, while competing against riders up to 18 years old, Sather finished 34th out of 222 contestants. "Caroline is looking forward to next year's finals already," said her mother, Stacey.
