College of DuPage, North Central College form institutional partnership

College of DuPage and North Central College have launched several new 2+2 programs designed to help students pursue advanced degrees in a variety of academic disciplines including literature, philosophy, religious studies, neuroscience and philosophy.

The programs are made possible through a new institutional partnership between COD and North Central laying the foundation for future pathway agreements for COD students to seamlessly transfer to North Central at the junior level.

"This new partnership between COD and North Central reflects our collaborative and intentional level of commitment to providing students a clear pathway toward a timely degree in a growing number of academic programs," said COD President Dr. Brian Caputo.

Under the agreements, COD students can start planning their transition to NCC as early as their first semester by following an academic transfer plan designed to ensure a smooth transition.

North Central Director of Transfer Admission Nicholas DeFalco said he is eager to build upon a long-standing partnership with COD to ensure students have the tools and resources to accomplish their educational goals.

"This agreement, and the academic programs that fall within in it, will be the newest addition to the host of COD specific resources we have created to benefit future students," he said. "As a fellow institution serving the residents of DuPage County, we look forward to continued collaboration with COD as we develop new ways to best support transfer students."

With a wide variety of partnerships, COD has guaranteed admission agreements and transfer or articulation agreements with almost 50 institutions of higher learning for nearly 200 degree programs. In all, 22 COD associate degree programs feed into more than 14 bachelor's degrees.

COD's fall semester begins Monday, Aug. 22, with additional sessions starting Sept. 19 and Oct. 17. Course offerings include a mix of in-person, hybrid, virtual and traditional online classes.
