Acoustic pop duo Dala comes to ECC CenterStage Series March 11

The CenterStage Series welcomes Dala at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 11, at SecondSpace Theatre on the Elgin Community College campus, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin.

Juno nominees and winners of the 2010 Canadian Folk Music Award for Vocal Group of the Year, Amanda Walther and Sheila Carabine write and sing in harmony best described as angelic.

These best friends met in high school music class, released five albums, and toured extensively across North America.

These darlings of the Canadian music scene are poised to bring their fresh brand of acoustic pop music to the world.

Drawing upon influences like The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, and Bob Dylan, the duo's songs are catchy and insightful. Walther's ethereal soprano voice blends seamlessly with Carabine's velvety alto, creating the lush harmonies that have become their trademark.
