Schaumburg Library Announces Programs to Help Job Seekers
Finding a job or advancing a career will be the topics of October programs offered by the Schaumburg Township District Library. The following programs take place live on Zoom and will also be live-streamed on SchaumburgLibrary.tv. All are free, but require registration.
"Land Your Next Job 50% Faster; Tap into the Volunteer Network"is scheduled from 6:30-7:30 p.m., this Wednesday, Oct. 7. Participants will find out why volunteers have a better chance of finding a job than jobseekers who don't volunteer. Business and Career Services (BCS) volunteers will discuss the career advantages of volunteering and meet with participants in virtual breakout rooms.
"LinkedIn 2.0: Career Advancement" will take place from 6:30-8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 15, and is geared toward those who already have a basic profile in place on LinkedIn. Lauren Milligan of ResuMAYDAY will debunk the mystery of this crucial job search and career advancement tool. Learn how LinkedIn is used by employers and recruiters, and how to set up a profile to get the most impact.
"Interview Like a Pro" will be held from 6:30-8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 22. Lynee Alves, president of Interview Like an Expert, will cover top interview tips every candidate can use to boost performance in job interviews. Learn how to be comfortable during interviews and stand out from other candidates.
