Serving Those Who Serve

Village of Gurnee church Pastor Brandon Smith and Marine Michael Hornsby were looking for help from local restaurants in the Gurnee area to feed the National Guard who has been stationed at the testing site in Waukegan for the past several weeks. Golden Corral and The Home Depot in Gurnee partnered up for this great cause.

On May 30th, 2020 Golden Corral held a cookout in their parking lot, our District Manager Roger Weideman, a veteran himself, collaborated with General Manager Terry Brown and his team to execute a well deserved meal for the National Guard, A big thanks to The Home Depot and manager Brian for gifting us two grills and charcoal to cook for The National Guard, which they had a choice of hot dogs, cheeseburgers, corn on the cob, fries and for dessert chocolate cake and watermelon.

Gurnee's businesses demonstrated that they are all united as a community and are Lake County Strong. Thanks again for the opportunity and it was a great honor for our team to serve those who serve.
