This photo was taken recently at Herrick Lake Forest Preserve, in Wheaton.It is Staghorn Sumac (Rhus Typhina---Non-Poisonous), usually found in abandoned fields. The serrated green leaves turn to beautiful colors in fall, to orange, scarlet, gold and plum.
