WAYS offers effecttive parenting classes

Wayne/Winfield Area Youth/Family Services continues to offer on-going Systematic Training for Effective Parenting classes for parents finding it challenging to raise a child in the 21st century and who could benefit from the support of others.

Classes are from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursdays at the WAYS offices, 27W031 North Ave., West Chicago. Classes also are offered in Spanish by appointment.

Parents can start at any time as the classes are cycled through, but a pre-class consultation appointment is required.

The program is comprised of eight sessions, which include material that is easy to comprehend, effective, and research-based. Program topics include: Responsibilities of Parents, Nonaggressive Methods of Discipline, and Not All Abuse is Physical. Parents can learn to understand children's behavior, improve communication and set limits along with consequences.

For more information or to schedule a consultation, call (630) 231-7166.
