WAYS offers seventh annual 'Salute to the Olympics'

The seventh annual WAYS' Salute to the Olympics for community summer camps was held by Wayne/Winfield Area Youth/Family Services on July 29.

The fun-filled events had the themes of good sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive competiveness reinforced by all the staff and volunteers. This year, 50 grade school and middle school youth attended from the summer camp programs at WAYS and Bartlett Park District.

Allison Kowieski, WAYS' youth program coordinator, was the master of ceremony.

The opening ceremony parade included going through the Wayne Township Senior Center where seniors welcomed all the youth.

Each camp had their camp T-shirts and banners made by each camp.

In addition to camp, WAYS provides individual, family and group therapy in English and Spanish; anger management and parenting classes; senior services; and tutoring.
