Salem Drive Improvement Project in Schaumburg Scheduled to Begin Week of March 23

The Salem Drive Improvement Project in Schaumburg is scheduled to begin the week of March 23.

The project will take place on Salem Drive between Golf and Bode roads. The project consists of pavement removal, construction of new asphalt pavement, curb and gutter, sidewalk, storm sewer, watermain, street lighting, restoration and final landscaping. Work is being performed by Berger Excavating Contractors, Inc.

As part of the project, Salem Drive will be reduced to one-lane, one-way southbound only. Northbound traffic will use Grand Canyon Parkway as a detour; signs will be provided guiding motorists around the construction zone. The project is expected to be substantially complete by November 2015. For project updates, visit the project webpage at http://vhiis2.ci.schaumburg.il.us/cip/cipproject.aspx?id=12037.

Those with questions regarding the project can call the village's Engineering and Public Works Department at (847) 923-6681 or email the village at 2015SalemDrImp@villageofschaumburg.com.
