U-46's Torres new chairman for Elgin Chamber

The Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce introduced a new board chairman at its 106th annual meeting Wednesday at The Centre of Elgin.

Elgin Area School District U-46 Superintendent Jose Torres took the gavel from outgoing chairman David Rock, president of IHC Construction Companies, LLC.

 

More than 200 people gathered to network, enjoy lunch listen to Rock before hearing from Torres.

"It's a honor to serve as the incoming chair," Torres said while detailing his career.

Torres promised to help the chamber develop the workforce, strengthen the chamber and enhance the development group.
