McHenry District 6: McCann, Evertsen

In District 6, McHenry County voters will pick from two newcomers Dennis Palys and Diane Evertsen and incumbent Mary T. McCann for two seats.

Republicans McCann and Evertsen are endorsed. McCann, a business owner, is the strongest candidate with her record on the board during the past three years and her background with community committees. Evertsen, a Realtor from Harvard, brings a little controversy as the president of Midwest Minutemen and wife of Hartland Township Supervisor Evert Evertsen.

Yet she has shown immense growth since her primary campaign. and she has a savvy mind for business and a strong knowledge of what the county's limits are on authority. Democrat Palys, who is in landscape design, has some strong ideas but he would have been better served to focus on those rather than billing himself as running so “voters would have another choice.”
