Winter in Italy French Toast

3 eggs#190; cup half-and-half2 tablespoons sugarPinch of nutmeg and/or cinnamon6 slices white bread1#189; cups roasted apples1 cup mascarpone cheeseGround cinnamon, to taste#189; cup toasted walnuts#188;cup raisins#188; cup caramel sauceIn a medium bowl, beat the eggs; add half-and-half, sugar and spices and mix until well combined.Heat a griddle over medium heat. Dip bread into batter and grill on both sides until golden brown. Set aside and keep warm.Stir cinnamon into mascarpone cheese. Layer the cinnamon mascarpone between each piece of French toast being stacked and top with roasted apples, walnuts and raisins.
