ECC waives ticket fee for Love breakfast

Elgin Community College is waiving the $10 ticket fee for the breakfast with former Chicago Bull Bob Love on Wednesday, March 18. The college is refunding the ticket price already paid by anyone who has purchased a ticket for the breakfast. Space is limited, however, and reservations must still be made. Doors open at 7 a.m. and breakfast will be served at 7:30 a.m. For details, see www.elgin.edu.

Elgin mayor to host cyber meeting

Elgin residents can chat online and live with Mayor Ed Schock from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, about the state of the city. People can got to cityofelgin.org and click on "Chat Live with Mayor Schock" to be directed to the Webcast page. Schock will talk about the state of the city and address topics ranging from crime to economic development. Viewers also may type in questions and have Schock respond during the Webcast. The chat will be held at the Gail Borden Library, 270 N. Grove Ave., Elgin.

Summer job fair

The village of South Elgin and other local businesses will hold a job fair for seasonal summer work in the Parks and Recreation Department from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, at the municipal annex, 1 W.
