Lake County briefs
Walmart opens:
A new Walmart supercenter will open after a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at Route 83 and Monaville Road in Round Lake Beach. The new store will be open 24 hours and feature a full line of groceries, a pharmacy, health clinic, vision center and other amenities. It replaces the much smaller original store in the village at Rollins Road and Route 83, which was the first in the northern suburbs. The new store will employ 350, about 140 more than at the old location.
