District 300's super spellers
Some students shine when the pressure's on.
At last Thursday's District 300 spelling bee, held at Carpentersville Middle School, the following students took top honors.
"Well done" to all, and special congratulations go out to those who won two years in a row.
Sixth grade: winner, Jared Ludwig, Algonquin Middle School; runner-up, Quinten Ozimek, Hampshire Middle School
Seventh grade: winner, Alyssa Lach, Westfield Community School, second year in a row, runner-up, Austin Welch-Hampshire Middle School.
Eighth grade: winner, Connor Yau, Westfield Community School, second year in a row; runner-up, Quentin Morvay, Dundee Middle School.
