Cheer on Special Olympic athletes in Crystal Lake

The public is invited to cheer for 200 Special Olympics athletes as they compete in a regional basketball competition on Sunday, Feb. 15, in Crystal Lake.

Northern Illinois Special Recreation Association is hosting 13 teams, most at the highest skill level, from 10 area special recreation agencies. Competition begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 4 p.m., with the highest level games beginning at noon.

The tournament takes place at Hannah Beardsley School, 515 Crystal Lake Ave. in Crystal Lake. Call the NISRA office at (815) 459-0737 for information.
