Keep Munson on as road commissioner

I am writing you this letter to show my support of Joe Munson for road commissioner. I have been a resident of Wauconda for nearly 50 years. I have seen my share of road commissioners, and I would only give my support to a candidate who is competent and ready for the job. In my opinion, Joe Munson has what it takes to not only do this job, but to do it well. He is most qualified for this job and he is ready to serve the residents of Wauconda Township. Here are only but a few reasons Joe Munson stands out as the most qualified person for this commission:

1. He has years of experience in the truck and heavy equipment industry. He knows truck and heavy equipment maintenance. He has worked for road and building excavators. All this experience is a critical component for a road commissioner candidate.

2. He has many years of experience with owning and operating his own trucking and excavating company. He knows what it takes to run a business and to hire competent workers to get a job done.

3. In his service as road commissioner, he worked with the township to start a very successful road maintenance program. We have seen the evidence of the success of this program as reflected by the timely and efficient repair work and maintenance given to our roads.

4. For two years now, he has maintained the electronic recycling program. Ours was the first township to do this!

5. One of the most important reasons why I want Joe Munson to be Road Commissioner is because I know that he has a good work ethic. Not only is he qualified to make sure the job is done well, he is also committed to saving the township money. He will look for creative ways to do that, like when he purchased a used "crack filling" machine. His expertise in heavy equipment and the knowledge of those type of machines, allowed him to find the best deal for our township, thereby saving valuable tax dollars.

6. Lastly, and most importantly, we know that the job of any road commissioner is that of supervising the work that needs to be done. A good supervisor knows "the landscape" of his commission and is always aware of the new work required, overseeing the current work, and making sure that all the jobs are done well. Although a road commissioner isn't doing the labor, his job of oversight is critical. It requires a person who has just the right experience and who can oversee the multiple projects that are necessary. It is my opinion that Joe Munson is the right person for this job! He has all the experience necessary to do what this job requires. And he will not only do it well, but he will do it efficiently, keeping our tax dollars in mind. As we know, that says a lot in today's economy!
