Learn entrepreneurship at ECC

A 12-week course to help participants meet their business goals, begins Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Elgin Community College. The class, offered by the Illinois Small Business Development Center, meets Wednesdays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. through May 13 in the Fox Valley University and Business Center, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin. This class includes workshops, guest lectures by business leaders, networking opportunities and one-on-one business counseling. The course enrollment fee is $475. Violence counseling offered

The Community Crisis Center in Elgin provides domestic violence counseling services for northwestern Kane County. A licensed counselor and is available to adult and adolescent females, and services are free. For information or an appointment, call (847) 697-2380.

Meet Ronnie Woo Woo

Ronnie "Woo Woo" Wickers will be at Rookies All-American Pub and Grill in Elgin from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 20. Ronnie Wickers, best known for his loud, enthusiastic cheering, is commonly called the "world's greatest Chicago Cubs fan." He will be at Rookies signing copies of "Cubbie Blues: 100 Years of Waiting Till Next Year," a compilation of essays, art work and trivia from acclaimed authors such as Sara Paretsky, Scott Simon, James Finn Garner, Don DeGrazia and Rick Kogan.
