Mr. CHS competition Sunday

The Central High School post prom committee will sponsor the fifth annual Mr. CHS contest at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, in the Central High School auditorium. Doors open at 12:15 p.m. More than a dozen of Central's most outgoing male students will strut their stuff in hopes of winning the title of Mr. CHS. In addition to the crowning of Mr. CHS, there will be an award given for "Mr. Heart Throb." Tickets are $8.

Board members needed

South Elgin Parks and Recreation FUNdation is seeking volunteers to serve on its board. The FUNdation is a 5-year-old, not-for-profit arm of the department. Meetings are held on the second Monday of February, May, August and November. The next meeting is Feb. 9. Interested candidates must live in the village. Scout pasta dinner

Boy Scout Troop 32 of West Dundee is holding its annual pasta dinner on Saturday, Feb. 7. Dinner will be served between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. at the Bethlehem Community Ministry Center, 417 W. Main St., West Dundee, IL. Tickets are available at the door.
