Last day for baseball registration:

The Central District Baseball League is having its last walk-in registration from 9 a.m to noon today at Burlington Central High School - potential managers and coaches must show up in person to fill out forms authorizing background checks. The deadline for league registration is Feb. 23. You can register online at www.cdbaseball.org. The league is open to players living withing Central Unit District 301.

Chili cook-off scheduled:

The Association for Individual Development is having a chili cook-off at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Maple Park Pub in Maple Park. The top three winners from each contests (others were held in Burlington and South in January) will face off during AID's 10th annual telethon on Feb. 28 and have the chance to win a $500 cash first prize.
