Northwest roundup: Barrington wins Bison Classic

Barrington 54, CL South 38: Barrington won the championship of the Bison Classic with a 5-0 record as the Fillies stopped Crystal Lake South 54-38 on Saturday at Maine South High School.

Coach Babbi Barreiro's club was led by Abby Kirchoff's 14 points, followed by Jenny Schnack (11) and Anna Kirchoff (6).

Prospect 58, Lyons 32: Prospect started with a pair of steals, which led to a 13-0 spurt to open the game in a victory against touranment host Lyons. The Knights (5-1) did not allow a field goal in the first period and ended it with a 15-2 lead.

"The seem to enjoy playing defense," said Prospect coach Martha Kelly.

Alyssa Glennon delivered 5 steals, Rachel Hunt had 6 rebounds and 5 blocked shots, Lexi Glennon and Hunt had 9 points each and Danielle Brucci and Alyssa Glennon 8 each. Sarah Winans scored 7 points with 4 assists and Sarah Hunt had 6 points.

Conant 42, Naperville North 40: Emma Loos (11) converted the winning points with two seconds remaining to lift the Cougars (4-1) to their third win in the Waubonsie Valley tournament. Lauren Jason led the Cougars with 16 points while Marissa Ross chipped in three 3-pointer for 9 points.
