The Kane County Bar Association will continue its "Ask A Lawyer Day" this year, beginning on Saturday, Jan. 10. The program runs from 9 a.m. to noon for a free consultation with one of six volunteer attorneys over the phone by calling (630) 762-1900. The program began last year during the bar's 150th anniversary.

Campaign kickoff

The Adult and Child Rehab Center in Woodstock, a nonprofit organization, is running its annual campaign to raise money so it can continue serving the community. The rehab center's goal is to raise $100,000. To send a donation, point your Web browser to www.adultchildrehabcenter.org and click on "donate." Get rid of that tree

This month, Groot Recycling and Waste Services, the refuse hauler for the village of Cary, will collect Christmas trees at no extra charge. The trees will be collected on Thursdays through Jan. 29. Please make sure you put the trees on the curb before 6:30 a.m. on the designated day. They must be free of all decorations, including tinsel. Groot will chip the trees and recycle them for future use. For details, call (847) 639-0003.
