Arlington Heights
• Jadwiga Misiaszek-Sterkowiec, 34, of the 0-100 block of East Old Willow Road, Prospect Heights, was arrested around 12:50 p.m. Dec. 27 at Kohl's, 800 W. Dundee Road, and charged with retail theft after police said she placed four bottles of cologne, baby items, gloves and lip balm on the undercarriage of her baby stroller and one bottle of cologne in her pocket and left without paying. Total value was estimated at $313. Her court date is Jan. 29.
Schaumburg
• Kimberly Y. Gray, 32, of the 0-100 block of East Highland Avenue, Mount Prospect, was arrested around 12:35 p.m. Dec. 24 at JCPenney in Woodfield Mall and charged with retail theft. Her court date is Jan. 8.
• Linneah C. Kroschel, 19, of the 800 block of Laurel Avenue, Des Plaines, was arrested around 6:30 p.m. Dec. 26 at Macy's in Woodfield Mall and charged with retail theft. Her court date is Jan. 24
• Burglars broke into a 1994 Toyota Camry at Woodfield Mall between 5:30 and 11:20 p.m. Dec. 26 and stole a GPS unit. Total loss was estimated at $300.
• Burglars pried open the front door and may have stolen a TV and computer (the officer could not contact the victims to confirm the report) out of a home on the 0-100 block of Fulbright Lane between 1 and 6:53 p.m. Dec. 26. A loss estimate was not available.
• Burglars broke into an unlocked 2006 Toyota Matrix in a parking garage at 601 N. Martingale Road between 2:30 and 4:45 p.m. Dec. 26 and stole a camera, cell phone and money. Total value was estimated at $465.
Hoffman Estates
• Lorenzo Sanchez, 19, of the 8500 block of West Catherine Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 1:15 p.m. Dec. 28 at Golf Road and Barrington Road and charged with criminal damage to property and assault after police said he punched a window on a woman's car and yelled and swore at her. His court date is Feb. 10.
• Vandals broke two side mirrors, the rearview mirror, and two fan covers on a school bus on the 700 block of East Cougar Trail between 7:30 p.m. Dec. 26 and 10:15 a.m. Dec. 27. A damage estimate was not available.
• Burglars broke the front door glass at Elite Cleaners on the 1500 block of West Algonquin Road sometime during the night of Dec. 26 and damaged a cash register drawer. Damage was estimated at $350. During the same time, burglars broke the front door glass at Huntington Cleaners on the 1600 block of West Algonquin Road, and stole two cash register drawers. Total loss was estimated at $400.
• Vandals shattered the front door glass at the Subway restaurant, Quiznos restaurant, and Aspen Cleaners, all on the 3000 block of North Barrington Road, between 9 p.m. Dec. 26 and 6:10 a.m. Dec. 27. Total damage was estimated at $1,500.
• Thieves stole a laptop computer valued at $1,500 from Sears Logistics, 3333 Beverly Road, between Dec. 18 and 29.
Mount Prospect
• Vandals hurled eggs onto a 1999 Volkswagen Jetta on the 0-100 block of Judith Ann Drive between 9:30 p.m. Dec. 28 and 7:40 a.m. Dec. 29. Damage was estimated at $1,500.
• Burglars broke into a 2006 Saab coupe on the 1800 block of Willow Lane between 10:30 p.m. Dec. 28 and 8:15 a.m. Dec. 29 and stole a GPS unit. Total loss was estimated at $248.
• Thieves stole a purse out of a shopping cart at Wal-Mart, 930 Mount Prospect Plaza, Rand and Central roads, around 3 p.m. Dec. 22. Value was estimated at $500.
• Thieves unscrewed and stole the fog light assembly from a 2003 Toyota Solara in an apartment lot on the 2200 block of Delaware Drive around 7 p.m. Dec. 28. Value was estimated at $210.
Elk Grove Village
• A former employee of Regional Expedited Shipping Transportation, 1158 McCabe Ave., stole two 40-inch TV sets valued at $5,000 from the loading dock around 3:05 p.m. Dec. 20. No arrest was reported.
• Thieves stole 13 pairs of designer eyeglasses from Family Eye Care, 2 E. Devon Ave., around 6 p.m. Dec. 23. Value was estimated at $1,634.
• Joseph A. Dugo, 17, of the 500 block of Maple Lane, was arrested around 1:45 p.m. Dec. 23 near his home and charged with possession of stolen property. His court date is Feb. 10.
• A man driving a small dark-colored vehicle grabbed a purse from a woman walking through a store parking lot at 801 Meacham Road around 8:05 p.m. Dec. 20. Value was estimated at $300.
Des Plaines
• Burglars pried open the front door of a sixth-floor condo on the 700 block of South Pearson Street between 10:30 a.m. and 1:55 p.m. Dec. 29, ransacked rooms and stole money, several gold rings, necklaces, earrings, a watch, and a pillow case. Value was estimated at $14,300. During the same time, burglars pried open the door at another condo on the same floor and ransacked rooms. It was not immediately clear if anything was missing.
• Cleveland R. Jones, 28, of the 1400 block of South Harvard, Chicago, was arrested around 4 p.m. Dec. 29 in a parking lot at Mannheim and Higgins roads and charged with felony forgery after authorities said he tried to use a counterfeit $100 bill to pay for food at McDonald's, 3067 Mannheim Road. His court date is Jan. 9.
Bartlett
• David Olson, 20, of the 900 block of Santuit Court, Schaumburg, was charged with residential burglary on Dec. 25 after police recovered Christmas presents and other items at his residence that had been reported taken from a home on the 100 block of North Berteau Avenue. The family had returned home to find their back door had been forced open and the items missing.
Streamwood
• Burglars broke into a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant on the 1300 block of Irving Park Road between 3 and 5:30 p.m. Dec. 28 and stole a CD player and CDs. No loss estimate given.
• Burglars broke a window to gain entry to a home on the 800 block of Woodland Heights between 9 a.m. Dec. 27 and 10 p.m. Dec. 29 and stole two laptop computers, a 42-inch plasma TV, money, two watches and a video game system with a game. Value was estimated over $2,500.
• Vandals smashed three windows on a 1998 Lincoln Navigator at a home on the 800 block of Flowers Avenue between 5:30 p.m. Dec. 28 and 6:30 a.m. Dec. 29. Damage was estimated at $600.
• Thieves stole sound amplifiers, speakers, TVs, a bar, furniture, food and liquor from Aaganan Bar and Grill, 720 S. Barrington Road, between 3 p.m. Dec. 23 and 11 p.m. Dec. 25. A value estimate was not given. An investigation continues.
• Burglars broke into a 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS on the 1000 block of Meadows Lane between 4 and 9:45 p.m. Dec. 25 and stole a GPS unit. A loss estimate was not available.
• Vandals shot BB-gun pellets that shattered the rear window and driver's-side window on a 2000 Saturn SL around 4:20 a.m. Dec. 25 as the male driver was pulling out of an apartment lot on the 1100 block of Colony Court. Two men had approached him when he got into his car after visiting his girlfriend, and told him he didn't belong there. A damage estimate was not available.
• Burglars smashed a front glass door at J's Cleaners, 140 N. Barrington Road, around 6:30 a.m. Dec. 27 and stole a cash box. Damage was estimated at $300. Around the same time, burglars smashed the front glass door at Dairy Queen in the same strip mall but did not get inside the store. Damage was estimated at $300.
Hanover Park
• Three vehicles were damaged by potholes on Lake Street at Cloverdale between 6:30 and 6:55 p.m. Dec. 29. No damage estimates available.
• Keith Vermillion, 22, of the 1300 block of Kingsbury, was arrested around 1 p.m. Dec. 28 in a store at 7350 Barrington Road and charged with retail theft. No court date given.
• Daniel Hernandez, 22, of the 6300 block of Church, was arrested around 6:15 p.m. Dec. 27 on the 1500 block of Lake Street and charged with possession of ammunition without a firearm owner's ID. A court date was not available.
• Dario Cristino, 31, of the 5400 block of Knollwood, Schaumburg, was arrested around 7:45 p.m. Dec. 26 on the 1600 block of Walnut and charged with possession of a controlled substance. A court date was not available.
• Casey R. Hagestedt, 18, of the 100 block of Long, Schaumburg, was arrested around 3:15 p.m. Dec. 23 at 7580 Barrington Road and charged with retail theft and possession of marijuana. A court date was not available.
