Citizens for Conservation seed collection: Thursdays and Saturdays 9 -11 a.m.; and Sundays 3:30-5 p.m., 459 W. Highway 22, Lake Barrington. Volunteers of all ages are invited to help collect seeds from a wide variety of native plants. (847) 382-7283.

Four Paws calendars: Four Paws Animal Foundation is now selling 2009 calendars for $12.50, which depict some of the organization's rescues as well as family pets as a fundraiser to help support their adoption and rescue efforts. Order forms for the calendars can be obtained at Banbury Fair and Heartland Animal Hospital, both in Bartlett; Hanover Park Animal Care Center; and Health Emporium in Streamwood. Holy Family Trim the Home floral show, housewalk: Thursday, Nov. 6: Boutique shopping begins at 4 p.m., with vendors displaying Christmas decorating and gift items. The floral show begins 7 p.m. Watch local florists create floral arrangements, $20. A dinner will be held from 5-7 p.m. for $12. Nov. 7: Holiday housewalk held from 9:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m., $30. Tour decorated homes in the Inverness area. Lunch and evening wine and cheese hosted by Honquest Fine Furnishings included.
