Wrap: Brumm, Sipes lead Grayslake C. to 5th straight win
Mike Brumm scored 15 points and Andrew Sipes added 13, as Grayslake Central's boys basketball team won again Friday night.
The Rams defeated host Crystal Lake South 43-35 for their fourth win a row.
Mike Davis chipped in 8 points for Grayslake Central, which outscored the Gators 12-7 in the fourth quarter.
C-G 59, Grayslake N. 50: Clay Henricksen scored 20 points for the Knights, who lost their third in a row.
Grayslake North fell to 2-5.
Girls basketball
Warren 60, Zion-Benton 17: Sarah Boothe had 19 points, 7 rebounds and 7 blocked shots for the Blue Devils, who led 13-2 after one quarter and 24-10 at halftime.
Kristin Mierzejewski added 10 points for Warren, which improved to 8-0 and 3-0 in the North Suburban Lake Division.
Point guard Joree Green had 8 rebounds, and Kim O'Leary sank a pair of 3-pointers.
Grant 84, Lakes 33: Jamie Swanson and C.J. Hill each scored 12 points for the Bulldogs, who opened a 22-4 advantage after one quarter in the North Suburban Prairie Division game.
Gina Cellucci and Tori Ziegler had 10 points apiece for Grant (7-2, 3-0).
Mandy Schellinger had 10 points for Lakes (0-9, 0-2).
Wauconda 58, Antioch 50: Kate Martino and Courtney Kimes each scored 13 points for the Bulldogs in the North Suburban Prairie Division game.
Lauren Mead added 11 for Wauconda (4-2, 2-1).
Andi Potkonjak had 17 points for Antioch (2-7, 0-3).
Vernon Hills 55, NC 34: Alana Coy and Amy Burton scored 12 and 11 points, respectively, as the Cougars won the North Suburban Prairie Division game for their second straight win.
Coy also had 4 rebounds and 3 assists, while Burton grabbed 6 rebounds and dished out 3 assists. Jamie Rucks contributed 6 rebounds and 4 points for Vernon Hills (4-5, 2-1). Kelly Nagle had 5 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
