Streamwood, Elgin gang forum Thursday
A community forum on gang prevention is planned for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at Heritage Elementary in Streamwood.
Officials from the Streamwood police, Elgin Area Unit District 46 and the Elgin Gang and Drug Task Force will provide gang intervention and prevention strategies and resources for residents and parents.
The reporting of gang activity and neighborhood watch programs will also be discussed, attendees will be able to pose questions and community groups will give an overview of services they provide.
Groups anticipated to attend also include the Streamwood Park District, Streamwood Youth and Family Services, Hanover Township Youth and Family Services, the Woodland Heights Association, the Neighborhood Leaders United, the Operation Push- Rainbow PUSH Coalition and the NAACP.
